Can Japanese residents use BingX? FSA warning status, restricted regions, operator info

Can Japanese residents use BingX? As of 16 September 2026 it is not on the FSA warning list and Japan is not restricted, but it remains unregistered.

'Can Japanese residents use BingX?' and 'Hasn't it received an FSA warning?' As of 16 September 2026, the facts this site has confirmed are that BingX is not listed on the FSA's 'parties conducting unregistered crypto-asset exchange business' list, and Japan is not among the restricted regions (21 countries/territories) set out in BingX's official Disclaimer. However, BingX is not registered with Japan's FSA and, like other overseas exchanges such as MEXC, is outside Japan's domestic investor-protection system.

This article explains how to read the FSA's list and its notes, BingX's restricted regions and its region-specific restrictions for CFD-related products, what can and cannot be confirmed about its operating information, and what to check before using it. It is written on the premise that 'not warned' does not mean 'safe', with confirmation dates and sources stated throughout.

Has BingX received an FSA warning? Results from checking the unregistered-operator list (16 September 2026)

The FSA issues warnings against operators conducting crypto-asset exchange business with residents of Japan without registration, and publishes separate lists for domestic and overseas-based operators. The main entries confirmed on the overseas-operator list on 16 September 2026 are below; BingX is not among them.

Source: FSA, 'Names, etc. of parties conducting unregistered crypto-asset exchange business' (PDF). The notes in that material state: 'a party not listed may still be conducting activity that falls under unregistered exchange business' and 'crypto-asset exchange operators must be registered with the FSA / a Local Finance Bureau'.

'Not listed' means neither 'registered' nor 'safe'

The FSA's list covers operators confirmed to be conducting unregistered business at the time a warning was issued. BingX not being on it only means that no warning has been issued against it; it does not mean the FSA has approved its operation, or that it is subject to the segregation of user assets and supervision. BingX is an overseas exchange not registered with the FSA, and is outside Japan's domestic investor-protection system.

Can Japanese residents use BingX? Japan is not among the 21 officially restricted countries/territories

Whether an exchange accepts residents of Japan is confirmed from the 'restricted regions' in its terms of service and disclaimer. What can be confirmed from BingX's official documents is as follows.

How Japan is treated in BingX's official documents (confirmed 16 September 2026)
DocumentTreatment of JapanContent
Disclaimer (updated 11 December 2023)Not among the restricted regionsLists 21 countries/territories whose customers it does not accept: Afghanistan, Burundi, Cambodia, Canada, Central African Republic, mainland China, Cuba, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Hong Kong, Iran, Laos, Macau, Myanmar, the Netherlands, North Korea, Panama, Singapore, Somalia, the UK, the US (including all its territories), and the Crimea/Donetsk/Luhansk regions of Ukraine. Notes that 'restricted regions may change and may differ by service'
CFD regional restrictions (4 August 2026)Not among the listed restricted regionsRestricts CFD futures, CFD copy trading and TradFi (stocks, commodities, etc.) in some countries across Asia, Europe, North America, Africa and Oceania. India, Germany, the US, Nigeria and Australia are among those listed; Japan is not included. States that 'the applicable regions are dynamically adjusted based on compliance requirements'

BingX's Customer Agreement prohibits account opening by parties on sanctions lists such as OFAC's. Because restricted regions can differ by service, the account screen's own display takes priority for what is actually available.

In other words, as of 16 September 2026, BingX does not restrict registration or use by Japan residents in its terms, and it also provides a Japanese-language site and help centre. That said, given that Bybit (December 2025) and Bitget (August 2026) both ended their services for Japan residents 'to comply with Japanese regulation', BingX's policy could similarly change. This site's exchange page presents BingX's Japanese-language support, fees and leverage as confirmed on the official pages on 3 September 2026.

BingX's operating information: what can and cannot be confirmed

The most important thing in assessing an overseas exchange is whether you can confirm the counterparty entity and how it manages assets. Here is what this site could and could not confirm about BingX from official information.

Status of confirming BingX's operating information (this site, confirmed 3 September / 16 September 2026)
ItemConfirmed contentSource / note
Founded2018Official site
FSA registrationNoneNot listed on the registered crypto-asset exchange operators list

Operating entityNot stated uniformly on official pages; the terms of service are the stated place to confirmSame as this site's exchange page
Proof of reserves (PoR)Publishes 100% proof of reserves on its official siteSee the terms of service / official pages for detail
Identity verification and limitsUnverified (no KYC) accounts are capped at 5x leverage and 2,000 USDT position size for futuresOfficial help centre
FeesSpot maker/taker 0.10%; perpetual futures maker 0.02% / taker 0.05% (VIP0)Official fee page (confirmed 3 September 2026)

There is secondary information claiming overseas licences, but this site has not been able to confirm it from primary sources, so it is not listed. As with MEXC, that the operating entity can only be confirmed from the terms of service adds to the difficulty of identifying a counterparty in a dispute.

Five things to check before using BingX

  • Check the latest version of the FSA's unregistered-operator list before starting and periodically afterwards. In the cases of Bybit and Bitget, being listed led to ending service for Japan residents within one to two years
  • Check the update dates of BingX's disclaimer and customer agreement (the disclaimer was updated 11 December 2023) to see whether Japan has been added to the restricted regions. Product-specific regional restrictions such as CFD and TradFi are announced separately
  • Complete identity verification (KYC) accurately. Unverified accounts face limits on leverage and position size, and misstating your residence can be grounds for freezing or withdrawal refusal as a breach of terms
  • Test a small deposit and withdrawal first, confirming the sending network, minimum withdrawal amount and processing time before increasing the amount. Do not concentrate assets on a single exchange
  • Periodically save your transaction history (fills, settlements, deposits/withdrawals) as CSV files. Profit from an overseas exchange is subject to Japanese income tax, and history can become hard to obtain once an exit is announced

About this column

Frequently asked questions

Q. Can Japanese residents use BingX?

A. As of 16 September 2026, Japan is not among the 21 countries/territories listed as restricted regions in BingX's official Disclaimer, and its terms do not restrict registration or use by residents of Japan. A Japanese-language site and help centre are also provided. However, it is not registered with the FSA and is outside Japan's domestic investor-protection system.

Q. Has BingX received a warning from Japan's FSA?

A. As confirmed on 16 September 2026, BingX is not on the FSA's list of 'parties conducting unregistered crypto-asset exchange business'. However, the FSA notes that 'a party not listed may still be conducting activity that falls under unregistered exchange business', so not being listed does not mean it is registered or safe.

Q. Is BingX registered with Japan's FSA?

A. No. BingX does not appear on the FSA's list of registered crypto-asset exchange operators, and is outside Japan's domestic investor-protection system, including the segregation of user assets and supervision by the authorities.

Q. Where is BingX's operating company based?

A. BingX's official pages do not state its operating entity or place of registration uniformly; this is left to be confirmed in the terms of service. It was founded in 2018 and publishes 100% proof of reserves (PoR) on its official site. This site has not been able to confirm secondary claims of overseas licensing from primary sources.

Q. Could BingX also exit Japan like Bybit and Bitget?

A. It cannot be ruled out. Both Bybit and Bitget ended their services for Japan residents 'to comply with Japanese regulation' after receiving FSA warnings. BingX had not received a warning as of 16 September 2026, but its official documents note that restricted regions 'may change'. Diversifying assets and periodically saving your transaction history are sensible precautions.

Q. Is profit made on BingX subject to Japanese tax?

A. Yes. Residents of Japan must declare profit from overseas exchanges as miscellaneous income too. A salaried employee must file an income tax return once non-salary income exceeds ¥200,000 a year, and must declare resident tax even at ¥200,000 or under. The automatic exchange of crypto-asset information (CARF) also began in January 2026.
