What you can verify about DecodeFX's safety is the operator and licence shown on its official site, the notice published by Japan's Financial Services Agency (FSA), and the trading conditions set out on official pages (account types, maximum leverage, zero-cut). This article does not treat individual posts on social media or review sites as fact, because they cannot be verified.
As of 18 September 2026, DecodeFX's official site states that all financial services on the DecodeFX platform are provided by Decode Global Limited, an international company incorporated in Vanuatu (company number 700415). Separately, Japan's FSA published the same Decode Global Limited (service name: DecodeFX) on its list of unregistered operators of financial instruments business in September 2025. This article sets out both facts side by side and what to check before opening an account.
In short: check DecodeFX's safety through the operator, its licence and the FSA notice
- Check the official site's footer and the registration screen for the entity name (Decode Global Limited) and company number that apply to your own account
- Cross-check that entity's licence (Vanuatu Financial Services Commission) against the official Licenses and Regulation page and the regulator's public register
- Understand Japan's FSA unregistered-operator notice (September 2025) as the fact that you have no investor protection under Japanese law
- Decide whether zero-cut (application-required), maximum leverage of 1:2000 and the account-type terms suit your own money management
The FSA's unregistered-operator notice publishes the fact that a firm solicited Japanese residents without the registration Japan requires. It is important risk information meaning you have no protection under Japan's Financial Instruments and Exchange Act, but it does not find any individual deposit, withdrawal or trade to be fraudulent. Conversely, holding an overseas licence does not mean you are protected under Japanese law.
Why DecodeFX is searched alongside scam and suspicious, and what can be confirmed
Searches such as DecodeFX scam and DecodeFX can't withdraw tend to reflect several separate issues: the lack of registration with Japan's FSA, an English-based official site whose Japanese pages change structure from time to time, the fact that many people first hear about it through social media or LINE, and the withdrawal concerns common to overseas brokers in general. We look at what official and public information confirms for each type of concern.
| Common concern | What official and public information confirms | Where to check |
|---|---|---|
| Is unregistered in Japan the same as illegal? | In September 2025 Japan's FSA published Decode Global Limited (service name: DecodeFX) on its list of unregistered operators of financial instruments business. This publishes the fact that it lacks the registration Japan requires; it does not find any individual trade to be fraudulent | FSA's list of unregistered operators |
| Which company operates it? | The official site names Decode Global Limited (Vanuatu, company number 700415, Class A and Class B Principal Licences from the Vanuatu Financial Services Commission) as the provider of all services. The group also includes the Australian entity Decode Capital Pty Ltd, but its licence applies to clients who contract with that entity | Official Licenses and Regulation page / footer |
| Can you not withdraw? | The official Japanese site states domestic bank transfer withdrawals take 1-2 business days, and USDT, Peska and bitwallet take instant to a few minutes. Official information cannot confirm whether individual withdrawal disputes exist; check first whether the name, identity verification and campaign conditions are met | This site's companion article, Deposit and Withdrawal Methods |
| Is an account you were invited to on LINE genuine? | DecodeFX runs promotions that distribute campaign codes through its official LINE account. However, third parties can impersonate the official brand, so cross-check the official domains (decodefx.com, decodefxtrading.com) and the contracting entity's name | This article's section on telling the official site from impersonators |
| Is there zero-cut protection? | The FAQ on the official account types page states that negative balance protection (zero-cut) is provided. However, it also states that an application is required every time the account goes negative, so it is not applied automatically. Applicable conditions and exceptions are governed by the terms | Official account types page (FAQ) |
※ This is a summary of what could be confirmed from this article's sources (DecodeFX's official site, Japan's FSA and the Kanto Local Finance Bureau, Ministry of Finance) as of 18 September 2026. Individual posts on social media or review sites are not treated as fact.
DecodeFX company details: operator and licence
DecodeFX's official About Us page describes itself as a professional global CFD broker with over 22 years of market experience, offering more than 1,000 tradable products across forex, commodities, stock indices, crypto and equities. The official Japanese site explains that Decode Global Limited was established in 2004 and is a subsidiary of the Decode Group. The entities listed on the official Licenses and Regulation page are as follows.
| Entity | Place of incorporation / number | Regulation / licence |
|---|---|---|
| Decode Global Limited | Vanuatu, company number 700415 | Class A and Class B Principal Licences as a securities dealer from the Vanuatu Financial Services Commission (VFSC). The official site's footer states it is the provider of all financial services on the DecodeFX platform |
| Decode Capital Pty Ltd | Australia, ABN 68 066 066 911 | Australian Financial Services Licence AFSL 246796 (Australian Securities and Investments Commission). Australian residents are stated to be ineligible to apply for a DecodeFX account, so this licence does not apply to a Japanese resident's account |
※ The official Japanese homepage also lists licence numbers for Mauritius (FSC, GB25204877), Saint Vincent (FSA, 25431BC 2019) and South Africa (FSCA, FSP 55001) in addition to these two entities. Check the registration screen and client agreement to see which entity's licence applies to your own account.
Even though the group includes an entity in a more strictly regulated jurisdiction such as Australia, a Japanese resident's account is registered to the Vanuatu entity. Describing it as an ASIC-regulated broker does not mean a Japanese resident's account is protected. For this reason, this site's DecodeFX broker page tells readers to check the applicable entity and licence on the registration screen.
On client funds, the official site states that client funds are held with tier-one banks, but as of 18 September 2026 the official pages this site checked did not describe the specific method of segregation (such as trust or segregated accounts) or any compensation scheme. The client agreement and risk disclosure documents are available in the client portal after registration, so save them before depositing.
Notice published by Japan's Financial Services Agency (September 2025)
Japan's FSA lists Decode Global Limited (service name: DecodeFX, based overseas) on its List of Unregistered Operators of Financial Instruments Business, dated September 2025 (Reiwa 7), and records that it solicited over-the-counter derivatives trading over the internet (confirmed 18 September 2026). A note in the remarks column, while stating the relationship is unclear, adds that its address is the same as or closely resembles that of several previously warned operators (Gleneagle Securities Pty Limited, ThreeTrader Global Limited, ACY Capital Australia Limited and Performance Ronnaru Capital Ltd).
What this notice means is that a DecodeFX account falls outside the framework of Japan's Financial Instruments and Exchange Act, and mechanisms available at domestic brokers, such as trust-based segregation, financial ADR and the investor protection fund, are not available. Several other overseas forex brokers listed on this site carry a similar notice, so treat this as a risk common to using an overseas forex broker.
Because the FSA's list is published by entity name, searching for the brand name DecodeFX alone can fail to find it. Check by the entity name Decode Global Limited and the September 2025 publication date. This site's Exness and Vantage Trading reputation columns guide readers through the same check.
Account types, maximum leverage and zero-cut: what to check
DecodeFX's official account types page (confirmed 18 September 2026) lists three accounts, STD, PRO and CENT. The figures below are the verified data listed on our broker page (confirmed 4 August 2026). All three offer maximum leverage of 1:2000 and support MT4, MT5, WebTrader and DecodeFX's own app. Account currency for STD and PRO includes major currencies such as JPY, while CENT is USC (cent-denominated) only.
| Account | Spread | Commission | Minimum deposit |
|---|---|---|---|
| STD | From 0.34 pips (accounts opened through this site; varies by IB setting) | None | USD 100 |
| PRO | From 0.0 pips | USD 7 per standard lot | USD 100 |
| CENT | From 1.7 pips | None | USD 1 |
※ A DecodeFX representative told us that the STD account's spread varies by IB (introducing broker) setting, and the setting for accounts opened through this site is from 0.34 pips (confirmed 4 August 2026). Do not assume the same terms apply to accounts opened through a different referrer. The stop out level is not stated on the official account types page and needs to be checked in the account specifications after registration.
- Zero-cut (negative balance protection) is stated to be provided in the FAQ on the official account types page, but an application to support is required every time the account goes negative, and it is not applied automatically. Applicable conditions and exceptions are governed by the terms
- The maximum leverage of 1:2000 can be limited by account balance or instrument. Treat the figure shown in the client portal as authoritative
- Because the stop out level is not on the official page, check it in the account specifications (MT4/MT5 account information or support) before trading
- Many bonuses and campaigns require an application; meeting the conditions without applying leaves you ineligible

Telling the official site apart from impersonators
DecodeFX runs promotions that distribute campaign codes through its official LINE account, such as the LINE-Exclusive Autumn Cashback in September 2026, and many people first learn about it through LINE or social media. Because of that, you need to check carefully to distinguish it from solicitation by a third party impersonating the official brand.
- Does the domain you are viewing match DecodeFX's official domains (decodefx.com, decodefxtrading.com)?
- Does the registration screen and footer show the contracting entity's name (Decode Global Limited), company number and risk warning?
- Does the deposit destination match the method and name shown in the client portal, with no request to transfer to a personal-name account?
- Have you avoided handing your password, authentication code or remote control of your device to a third party?
- Have you avoided being told that profits are guaranteed or that a withdrawal is certain?
Steps to check before opening a DecodeFX account and depositing
- 01Record the contracting entity
Save the entity name (Decode Global Limited), company number and licence shown on the registration screen and footer. Do not record the brand name alone.
- 02Cross-check the regulator's register and the FSA notice
Check both the Vanuatu Financial Services Commission's registration information and Japan's FSA unregistered-operator notice (September 2025), and decide on the premise that you have no protection under Japanese law.
- 03Read the terms and the withdrawal route
Save the client agreement, risk disclosure and withdrawal guidance, and check identity verification, deposit and withdrawal methods, and fees. Deposits and withdrawals are covered in a companion article.
- 04Decide on an account type and trade size before depositing
Compare the terms of STD, PRO and CENT, and, on the premise of maximum leverage of 1:2000 and that zero-cut requires an application, decide your trade size using only an amount you could lose without affecting your life before you deposit.
DecodeFX deposit and withdrawal methods: fees, processing times and minimums →
Prioritise checking the contracting entity, terms and withdrawal route over a campaign deadline or high leverage. If anything remains unclear, do not deposit, and check with official support (the Japanese-language desk is stated to be open weekdays 9:00-17:00).
Frequently asked questions
Q. Is DecodeFX a scam?
A. As far as this article's sources confirm, DecodeFX is a CFD broker operated by the Vanuatu entity Decode Global Limited (licensed by the Vanuatu Financial Services Commission), and its official site shows the operator, licence and risk warnings. Separately, Japan's FSA published the same entity as an unregistered operator of financial instruments business in September 2025, so you have no investor protection under Japanese law. Whether an individual trade is a scam cannot be judged from official information alone, and we do not treat social media posts as a basis either.
Q. Is DecodeFX registered with Japan's FSA?
A. No. In September 2025 Japan's FSA published Decode Global Limited (service name: DecodeFX) on its list of unregistered operators of financial instruments business. You do not receive the protections of Japan's Financial Instruments and Exchange Act, such as trust-based segregation or financial ADR.
Q. Which company operates DecodeFX?
A. The official site names Decode Global Limited (Vanuatu, company number 700415) as the provider of all financial services on the DecodeFX platform. The group also includes the Australian entity Decode Capital Pty Ltd (AFSL 246796), but Australian residents are ineligible to apply for an account, and its licence does not apply to a Japanese resident's account.
Q. Does DecodeFX offer zero-cut?
A. Yes. The FAQ on the official account types page answers that negative balance protection (zero-cut) is provided, but it also states clearly that an application is required every time the account goes negative, so it is not applied automatically. If a negative balance occurs, you apply to support. Check the client agreement for applicable conditions and exceptions.
Q. What are DecodeFX's account types and leverage?
A. The data listed on our broker page (confirmed 4 August 2026) shows three accounts: STD (from 0.34 pips through this site, no commission, USD 100 minimum deposit), PRO (from 0.0 pips, USD 7 per standard lot, USD 100) and CENT (from 1.7 pips, no commission, USD 1). Maximum leverage is 1:2000 for all three. The STD spread varies by IB setting. The stop out level is not stated on the official page.
Q. How should I judge a concerning point I read about DecodeFX's reputation?
A. Do not judge from social media or reviews alone. Check the contracting entity, licence, the FSA notice, the client agreement and deposit and withdrawal conditions against the official site and public information. If anything remains unclear, do not deposit, and check with official support.
