You type your password and Exness says no. A common cause is a mix-up between the three logins: Personal Area, MT4 or MT5, and the Exness Trade app.
Exness uses a different identifier for each. The Personal Area login is your registered email address, not your trading account number. MT4 and MT5 need the account number, the trading password and the account server. We checked the official Help Center on 20 October 2026.
After reading, you can tell which login you need, fix the most common errors in order, and know when to open a support ticket.
Exness login in short: three logins, three sets of credentials
- Personal Area (PA): sign in with your registered email address and your Exness password
- MT4 or MT5 terminal: sign in with the trading account number, trading password and account server
- Exness Trade app: sign in with your existing Exness account, or register a new one in the app
- An MT4 account only logs in to MT4, and an MT5 account only logs in to MT5
- Forgot a password? Both the PA password and the trading account password can be reset
| Where you log in | What you enter |
|---|---|
| Personal Area (PA) | Registered email address and Exness password |
| MT4 or MT5 terminal | Trading account number, trading password, account server |
| Exness Trade app | Existing Exness account, or register a new one in the app |
The Personal Area is the central hub created when you register. You use it to open new trading accounts and change account settings. One Exness account can be used on multiple devices.
Exness Personal Area login: email, password and common errors
The official help article says your username is your registered email address. It is not your trading account number or your name. This is the first item in the official list of common PA login issues.
| Problem | What the official help says to do |
|---|---|
| Wrong username or password | Remove extra spaces and typos, turn Caps Lock off, set the typing language to English, or reset the PA password |
| Typo in the email at registration | Register again with the correct email. If a new PA is created, the original registration likely had a typo |
| Terminated Personal Area | It cannot be recovered or logged into. Check your email for the termination confirmation |
| Technical issue on desktop | Clear the browser cache and cookies, try another browser or incognito mode, or log in through the Exness Trade app |
The help article states that the same email cannot be used to register multiple PAs, including terminated ones. After a termination, use a different email for a new PA.
Exness MT4 login and MT5 login: account number, password, server
MT4 and MT5 (MetaTrader 4 and 5, the trading terminals) need three credentials. The official article lists the trading account number, the trading password and the account server.
- Use an MT4-based trading account to log in to MT4
- Use an MT5-based trading account to log in to MT5
- Enter the account number and server exactly as they appear for your own account
- Reset the trading password if you forgot it
The official article does not list server names. Use the server that Exness assigned to your own trading account.
Common MT4 and MT5 error messages
| Message | Likely cause |
|---|---|
| Authorization Failed or Invalid account | Incorrect credentials |
| Common error or No connection | Connectivity issues |
| Trading problems in Netting mode | Account mode; the Help Center has a separate troubleshooting guide |
Fixes when you cannot log in to Exness MT4 or MT5
- 01Check the credentials
Confirm the account number, trading password and server. Confirm that the platform matches the account type, MT4 or MT5.
- 02Rescan servers
Click the connection bar at the bottom right of the terminal and choose Rescan servers. The connection may refresh.
- 03Check your internet
Run a speed test. Check cables, or turn the modem or router off for at least 5 seconds and on again.
- 04Check the firewall
A firewall or antivirus can block the terminal. Add the terminal to the exceptions list, or disable the software, then log in again.
- 05Restart or reinstall
Restart the terminal. If the problem remains, reinstall it.
- 06Open a support ticket
If the issue persists, the help article says to open a ticket in the support hub.
Exness app: how to install Exness Trade on iOS and Android
Exness Trade is the official Exness app. The help article says you can download it for Android or iOS from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store. After installing, you can register a new account or sign in with an existing one.
- iOS: Exness Trade supports iOS v15 or later
- Android: in some countries the app is not available in the Android app stores
- Android without the store: install through an APK file, then launch the app and choose Register or Sign In
- Updates: launch the app, or download the APK again
When the PA fails on a desktop browser even after clearing cookies and switching browsers, the official help recommends logging in through the Exness Trade app.
For trouble with downloading, installing or setting up the app, the Help Center points to its Exness Trade troubleshooting guide. A support hub ticket is the other route.
Before you log in: register an account and set up your credentials
Registering an Exness account creates your Personal Area. You select Create an Account, enter an email address and set a password that meets the displayed requirements. In certain regions, Sign in with Google is also available.
- Enter a partner code if you register under a partner. An invalid code clears the field so you can retry
- Tick the box confirming you are not a citizen or resident of the United States
- After registering, open the features menu at the top right and select Personal Area
- If the email is already connected to an account, follow the steps to recover a lost password

Frequently asked questions
Q. What do I use to log in to the Exness Personal Area?
A. Use your registered email address as the username, together with your Exness password. The official help says the username is not your trading account number or name. If you forgot the password, you can reset it.
Q. How do I log in to Exness MT4 or MT5?
A. Enter your trading account number, trading password and account server in the terminal. Log in to MT4 with an MT4-based account and to MT5 with an MT5-based account. A mismatch makes the login fail.
Q. Why does Exness show Authorization Failed or Invalid account?
A. The official help says these messages most commonly come from incorrect credentials. Check the account number, trading password and server. Confirm that the platform matches the account type.
Q. What should I do when MT4 or MT5 shows No connection?
A. Click the connection bar at the bottom right and choose Rescan servers. Then check your internet connection and firewall. If nothing works, restart or reinstall the terminal and open a support ticket.
Q. Is there an Exness app for iPhone and Android?
A. Yes. Exness Trade is available on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. iOS v15 or later is required, and an APK file is offered where the app is unavailable in Android stores.
Q. Can I log in with a terminated Exness Personal Area?
A. No. The official help says a terminated Personal Area cannot be recovered or logged into. Register a new PA with a different email address.
