Not sure what to enter where when you log in to XS? XS has two logins: the client portal (your account page) and MT4/MT5. Each asks for different details.
This article is based on the XS Help Center (checked 17 October 2026). It covers the difference between the two, the MT4/MT5 steps, and what to do if you can't log in. By the end, you will know which items to look for in your account-opening email.
Conclusion: XS has two logins, the client portal and MT4/MT5
- For the client portal, log in with your registered email address and password
- For MT4/MT5, enter three items: trading account number, password and server
- Check the server name in the email sent when your trading account was opened (the Help Center gives no specific name)
- If you forgot your password, reset it from the "Forgot your password?" link on the login page
- If that doesn't solve it, contact live chat or support@xs.com (support runs five days a week, on weekdays)
XS client portal vs MT4/MT5: what each login needs
| Item | Client portal | MT4/MT5 |
|---|---|---|
| What it is for | Managing your account, such as profile settings, deposits and withdrawals | Viewing charts and placing orders |
| What you enter | Registered email address and password | Trading account number, password and server |
| Where to check | The details you set yourself at registration | The email sent when the trading account was opened |
| Two-factor authentication | Can be set up from the profile | Not stated in the Help Center |
※ The Help Center calls it the "Client Area". This article calls the same thing the "client portal" (your account page).
When you create a trading account, you choose MT4 or MT5 along with the account type. The Cent account is MT5 only and cannot be used on MT4.
How to log in to the XS client portal, and two-factor authentication
- 01Open the login page on the official XS site
From the official site, go to the client portal login page.
- 02Enter your email address and password
Use the details you set when you registered. If they are wrong, an "invalid username or password" message appears.
- 03Enter the two-factor authentication code
If you have set it up, also enter the code shown in Google Authenticator.
The Help Center explains how to enable Google-based verification under two-factor authentication in your profile. Install Google Authenticator on your smartphone, scan the QR code, then enter the displayed code to confirm. XS recommends enabling it to protect your account. However, the Help Center pages we checked do not say whether it is mandatory, or what to do if you lose your device.

What to check if you can't log in to XS MT4 or MT5
When MetaTrader shows "Invalid account" or "No connection", the Help Center first points you to the details you entered. Recheck the number, password and server. Pasting them in helps you avoid typing mistakes.
- 01Compare with your account-opening email
Copy the trading account number, password and server from the email and paste them in.
- 02Check you have not mixed up MT4 and MT5
Enter the details in the same type of app (MT4 or MT5) that you chose when you created the account. The Cent account is MT5 only.
- 03Restart MetaTrader
If that doesn't fix it, try updating or reinstalling.
- 04Contact support
If you can't find the email or the problem continues, contact live chat or support@xs.com.
