When you cannot withdraw from an offshore forex broker, the cause is usually not an outright refusal. In most cases it falls into one of six groups: unfinished identity verification (KYC), a mismatch with the rule that withdrawals go back by the same method as the deposit (Return to Source), a mismatch between the account holder name and the destination name, an overlooked minimum amount or processing time, bonus or campaign terms, and a review for a suspected rule breach. Sorting out the cause first, then checking, then acting, also makes contacting support faster.
This article quotes the rules confirmed on the official help centers and official withdrawal pages of Axi, HFM and DecodeFX, all listed on this site (verification dates are given in the sources), and sets out cause, check and fix as checklists and tables. For the status of an individual request or the latest terms, what your broker shows in its client area and what its official support says take priority. This article does not guarantee whether or how fast a withdrawal will be processed.
Six main reasons you cannot withdraw from an offshore forex broker: sort them first
Even when it feels like a withdrawal refusal, the right response is completely different depending on whether the broker is actually declining the request or the process has simply stalled midway. First check which of the following six applies.
| Cause | What to check | Direction of the fix |
|---|---|---|
| Identity verification (KYC) not completed | Verification status in the client area and approval status of your documents | Upload any missing documents, wait for approval, then submit the withdrawal request again |
| Same-method-as-deposit rule | The payment method you deposited with and the methods available on the withdrawal screen | Withdraw by the same method to the same source as the deposit. If that is not possible, ask support |
| Name mismatch or third-party name | The account registration name versus the name on the destination (bank or wallet) | Switch to a destination in your own name. Withdrawals to third parties are generally not allowed |
| Minimum amount and processing time | The minimum for the chosen method and the processing time guideline the broker publishes | Meet the minimum and contact support only after the guideline number of business days has passed |
| Bonus and campaign terms | Withdrawal conditions of the bonus and any rule that cancels credit when you withdraw | Check the terms and withdraw only after meeting the conditions. Weigh the pros and cons beforehand |
| Suspected rule breach or review | Whether you have breached any prohibited practice, and whether support has contacted you | Organise your trading history and the facts, and follow the instructions from official support |
※ Several causes can overlap. Detailed conditions differ by broker, so always check the terms of your own account and your client area.
Some people read a processing or pending-review status as a refusal. For example, the Axi official help center explains that withdrawal status has stages such as awaiting account verification and request received and under review. Check what a status means in your client area and with support first.
You cannot withdraw until identity verification (KYC) is complete
The most basic reason a withdrawal fails is that identity verification is not finished. If you open an account, deposit and trade first and put off submitting documents, the process stops at the withdrawal request.
The HFM official Withdrawal Conditions PDF lists, as one reason a withdrawal request is cancelled, identity documents not being submitted and no action being taken within 7 days. The Axi official help center also explains that withdrawal review does not proceed while identity verification is incomplete. This site's summary of DecodeFX withdrawals likewise says a withdrawal request will not go through until identity verification review is complete (see each broker's sources for details).
- Both your photo ID and your proof of current address are shown as approved
- The name and address on the documents match your account registration exactly (HFM requires the names on both documents to match)
- The issue date of the proof of address is within the period each broker specifies (HFM requires within the past 6 months)
- Your date of birth was entered correctly (HFM also lists an incorrect date of birth as a reason for cancellation)
- No email asking for additional documents or the source of funds has arrived (check your spam folder too)
The HFM official FAQ explains that documents are reviewed by the KYC department within 48 hours and that deposits become possible after approval. To avoid last-minute trouble at withdrawal, the basic approach is to submit your documents as soon as you open the account and confirm the approval status.

What the offshore forex rule of withdrawing by the same method as the deposit means
Offshore forex brokers generally apply a principle (Return to Source, RTS) that withdrawals go back by the same payment method, and to the same source, as the deposit. It is operated as an anti-fraud measure so that the flow of funds can be traced, and it can be why a withdrawal fails when you want to send money to a different bank, or deposit by card but withdraw to a wallet.
| Broker | Rule stated by the broker | Source and verification date |
|---|---|---|
| Axi | Withdrawals are made by the payment method used for the original deposit, and funds are returned to the original source (RTS). For cryptocurrency, only an amount equal to the initial deposit can be withdrawn by the same method, and profits are withdrawn by another method | Official help center (verified on 26 September 2026) |
| HFM | Withdrawals are always made by the same method as the deposit (Withdrawal Conditions clause 3.2). If a card deposit exists, it is processed to that card first (clause 3.4) | Official Withdrawal Conditions PDF and withdrawal methods page (verified on 26 September 2026) |
| DecodeFX | Withdrawal methods may be restricted depending on the deposit method and verification status. The name of the destination must be the same as the registered name | Official Japanese site (verified on 18 September 2026) |
※ Exceptions and details (expired cards, profits above the deposit limit and so on) differ by broker. For specific examples, see HFM's Withdrawal Conditions PDF (clauses 3.3, 3.5 and 3.7).
At HFM, for example, funds cannot be returned to an expired card (clause 3.3), and a VISA or Mastercard deposit made more than 6 months ago cannot be withdrawn by the same method, so the money is sent by another method (clause 3.5). If the card you deposited with has expired, been lost, stolen or reissued, you must contact the company before requesting a withdrawal and submit an official letter issued by the bank (clause 3.7).
Whether you can withdraw is largely decided at the time of deposit. When choosing the method for your first deposit, check beforehand whether you can withdraw by that method, what the fee is and how many business days processing takes, and you are less likely to be in trouble later.

When a name mismatch or third-party name blocks the withdrawal
Another frequent cause is a name mismatch. In general, the withdrawal destination must belong to the account holder, and if you specify a bank account or wallet in a family member's name, it will not be processed.
The Axi official help center explains that every withdrawal is processed only to an account in the account holder's own name, and that a withdrawal request to a third party is not processed and is cancelled. It also states that if a suspicious source of funds is detected, the broker has the right to return the money to the sender and to hold the balance until identity and source-of-funds verification are complete. DecodeFX likewise states that the name on the withdrawal destination must be the same as the registered name.
- The registered name and the destination name match down to the notation (kana, Roman letters and order of family and given names)
- The bank account or wallet used for the deposit is not in someone else's name
- If your surname has changed, for example through marriage, your ID documents, registration details and bank account name are all aligned
- For a cryptocurrency withdrawal, you checked the address and the network (TRC20, ERC20 and so on) before sending
The DecodeFX official withdrawal methods page (verified on 18 September 2026) explains that USDT withdrawals support TRC20 and ERC20 and do not support BEP20. It states clearly that a withdrawal to a wrong wallet address may result in loss of funds, and that resending or compensation is not possible.
Offshore forex withdrawal times: telling a delay from a refusal
A common worry is how many days it takes from request to arrival, and whether the money is simply late or has been refused. If the wait is within the processing time guideline the broker publishes, it may be normal processing rather than a refusal.
| Broker | Method and processing time guideline | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| HFM | EXONE, bitwallet and BINANCE PAY are instant. Crypto assets within 24 hours. Bank transfer up to 2 business days. JCB and VISA take 2 to 10 business days depending on the bank | Requests made before 10:00 server time are processed during the same business day, and later ones on the next business day (official FAQ). Verified on 26 September 2026 |
| DecodeFX | Domestic bank transfer 1 to 2 business days. International bank transfer 2 to 5 business days. USDT a few minutes after approval. Peska and bitwallet instant to 3 minutes | Weekends, public holidays and processing time at the financial institution are not included. Verified on 18 September 2026 |
| Axi | Withdrawal time varies by the method chosen. Check the official deposit and withdrawal page for specific times | A withdrawal that has been processed and sent cannot be cancelled. Verified on 26 September 2026 |
※ How business days are counted, server time (GMT+2 in winter, GMT+3 in summer) and the processing time at the receiving bank or card company also have an effect.
- 01Check the status
In the withdrawal history in your client area, check whether the request is shown as received, under review or sent.
- 02Compare with the processing time guideline
Check whether the guideline in the table above has been exceeded. If you are still within it, wait first.
- 03Check the receiving side
Check processing at the bank, card company or wallet, and whether a weekend or public holiday falls in between.
- 04Contact support
If the guideline has passed, contact official support with the request date and time, method, amount and reference code.

When bonuses or rule breaches stop an offshore forex withdrawal
An account taking part in a bonus or campaign is handled differently at withdrawal. Each broker sets its own rules, such as credit being cancelled when you withdraw, or the account being excluded from the offer. Even if it feels like the withdrawal itself was refused, it may simply be processing according to the terms.
- Check the bonus withdrawal conditions (trading volume, period and eligible accounts). Conditions differ by broker and by promotion
- Check whether any rule cancels credit when you withdraw (example: for Axi's JP25Axi bonus, withdrawing from the eligible account before the period ends cancels the credit, and internal transfers between accounts are also treated as withdrawals)
- Check whether any promotion treats a withdrawal during the campaign period as reducing the net deposit (deposits minus withdrawals) and excluding you from the offer (in DecodeFX's September 2026 promotion, transfers between accounts also count as withdrawals)
- Check that you have not breached a prohibited practice such as hedging or using multiple accounts (AXIORY's 15th anniversary real trading starter pack prohibits hedging in its terms. For other brokers' prohibited practices, check each broker's terms)
If your profits look unusual, or trading across multiple accounts or a prohibited method is suspected, a review may be carried out before a withdrawal. If the suspicion is incorrect, organise the background and history of your trades and respond as instructed in the written or email notice from official support. Do not jump to conclusions in advance; the premise is to check the relevant clause of the terms.
A bonus can increase your trading volume, but it also adds conditions on withdrawal. If withdrawals are your priority, consider options such as using an account not covered by the bonus or not accepting the bonus.

What to do when you cannot withdraw, and what to decide before you deposit
When a withdrawal actually fails, proceed in the order of sorting the cause, checking, then contacting support. When you contact support, giving all the information that explains the situation at once gets you an answer faster.
- 01Check the withdrawal history and notification emails
Check the status, any rejection or cancellation notice, and whether additional documents have been requested.
- 02Check identity verification and names
Check the approval status of your documents and whether the name on the destination matches the registered name.
- 03Match the deposit route and the withdrawal method
Check whether you are withdrawing by the method you deposited with, and whether you meet the minimum withdrawal amount.
- 04Check the bonus and the terms
Check whether any benefit is cancelled by withdrawing, and whether you have breached any prohibited practice.
- 05Tell support
Contact them with your account number, request date and time, amount, method and a screenshot of the status.
- Complete identity verification immediately after opening the account
- Before depositing, check whether you can withdraw by that method, plus the fee and the processing time
- Use only bank accounts and wallets that match the registered name
- Before joining a bonus, read the rule on cancellation at withdrawal
- Look at the minimum amount and processing time, and request a withdrawal with time to spare
Japan's Financial Services Agency (FSA) publishes the names of overseas operators that conduct financial instruments business in Japan without registration and issues warnings about them (whether a firm has been published can be checked on the FSA page). If a withdrawal problem occurs, you may not be able to rely on dispute resolution mechanisms such as Japan's financial ADR, so checking the operating entity, its licenses and the FSA's publications before opening an account is the starting point of risk management, including for withdrawals.

Frequently asked questions
Q. Why can't I withdraw from an offshore forex broker?
A. The main causes are six: unfinished identity verification (KYC), a mismatch with the rule of withdrawing by the same method as the deposit (RTS), a mismatch between the registered name and the destination name, an overlooked minimum withdrawal amount or processing time, bonus or campaign terms, and a review for a suspected rule breach. First check the status in your withdrawal history and the approval status of your identity verification.
Q. Can an offshore forex withdrawal be refused?
A. A withdrawal can be stopped, for example when a rule breach is suspected or identity and source-of-funds checks are not finished. However, many cancellations are caused by problems on the applicant's side, such as the five reasons listed in HFM's Withdrawal Conditions PDF (documents not submitted for 7 days, incomplete withdrawal details, an incorrect date of birth, the wrong withdrawal method selected and unverified Skrill), and after cancellation you can submit the request again.
Q. Do I have to withdraw by the same method as my deposit?
A. As a rule, you withdraw by the same method and to the same source as the deposit. Axi applies RTS, which returns funds by the original payment method, and HFM sets withdrawal by the same method in clause 3.2 of its Withdrawal Conditions. Exceptions and details differ by broker, so check the terms and your client area.
Q. How many days does an offshore forex withdrawal take?
A. It depends on the method. The official guidelines are: HFM instant to a maximum of 10 business days (JCB and VISA take 2 to 10 business days depending on the bank); DecodeFX 1 to 2 business days for domestic bank transfer, 2 to 5 business days for international bank transfer, and instant to 3 minutes for Peska and bitwallet (verification dates are as shown in the table). Weekends, public holidays and processing at financial institutions are not included.
Q. Can I withdraw to an account in a family member's name?
A. As a rule, no. The Axi official help center explains that a withdrawal request to a third party is not processed and is cancelled. DecodeFX also says the destination must be the same as the registered name. Use a bank account or wallet in your own name.
Q. Can't I withdraw if I have received a bonus?
A. Whether you can withdraw depends on the terms of the broker and the promotion. Some rules cancel bonus credit when you withdraw, or exclude you from the offer when you withdraw, so check the withdrawal conditions before accepting. Examples of conditions, such as DecodeFX's September 2026 promotion (net deposit = deposits minus withdrawals), are published on the official pages.
