How Axi Copy Trading Works: App Setup, Fees, Copy Size and Risk Settings

How Axi copy trading works per the official help centre: app sign-up, linking MT4/MT5, choosing a provider, copy size options, fees and max drawdown.

Axi's copy trading lets you connect an MT4 or MT5 account to the official Axi Copy Trading app (iOS and Android) and copy the trades of a provider you choose. The official help centre (checked 27 September 2026) states that "there is no minimum deposit requirement for followers," and you set your own trade size and risk tolerance.

This article sets out, as far as Axi's official help centre confirms, the six steps to start copy trading, how fees work, the four copy-size methods, the max-drawdown risk setting, what happens when you stop following a provider, the requirements to become a signal provider, and how bonus credit and Axi Select relate to copy trading. For an overview comparing Axi's three tools — copy trading, the Axi trading app, and Axi Select — see our separate article; this one focuses on the setup and fees.

In short: Axi copy trading takes six steps from app sign-up to risk settings

  • There is no minimum deposit requirement for followers (official help centre, checked 27 September 2026), though you should hold enough to cover your trading conditions
  • Copying trades itself is free, but you may pay the signal provider a performance fee (capped at 50%) on the profit you earn
  • You choose a copy size from four methods: fixed size, mirror master size, proportional to equity, or proportional to balance
  • Risk is managed with a "Max Drawdown" setting that has a soft-stop and a hard-stop level
Where this site stands

Axi is an advertising partner of this site, and we receive referral commission on accounts opened through our links. Copy trading carries risk in the sense that a provider's past performance does not guarantee future results, and you may lose more than your investment amount. How to start Axi copy trading: six steps from app sign-up to settings

According to the official help centre (checked 27 September 2026), setting up the Axi Copy Trading app (iOS and Android) takes the following six steps.

  1. 01
Download the Axi Copy Trading app and register

Open the app, choose "New here?", and enter your email address, first name, last name, phone number and country of residence. Agree to the terms of service and privacy policy and select "Register" to receive a confirmation email. Tap "Confirm" in the email, return to the app, and log in.

  2. 02
Link your MT4 or MT5 account

If you already have an Axi account, go to the "Account" tab, select "Link account," choose your server, and enter your MT4 account number and password. Then choose either "Copy Trades" or "Provide Signal."

  3. 03
Choose a provider to copy in the "Discover" tab

After selecting copy trading, the "Discover" tab lists the signal providers (masters) you can copy. You can also search for one using the search box.

  4. 04
    Set your trade size

On the profile of the trader you want to copy, select "Copy" and adjust the trade size using fixed size, mirror master size, proportional to equity, or proportional to balance.

  5. 05
    Select "Agree and Copy"

Review your settings and select "Agree and Copy" to activate copying.

  6. 06
Set and apply your "Max Drawdown"

Set your soft-stop and hard-stop levels, then apply the setting with "Update" or "Agree and Confirm."

Axi copy trading fees: copying is free, but you pay the provider a performance fee

The official help centre (checked 27 September 2026) states: "There is no fee for copied trades, but you may pay the signal provider a performance fee on profit."

  • Example: if you copy a provider with a 30% performance fee and earn USD 100 in profit, you pay the provider USD 30
  • Fees are deducted from your account weekly and appear in your trade history as "signal fee" (PPF)
  • The performance fee is a percentage of the profit the follower earns and cannot exceed 50%
  • The fee is charged directly to the follower's trading account only on profit above the previous high-water mark
Rates vary by provider

Each signal provider sets its own performance-fee rate, so check the profile screen before you start copying.

Axi copy trading copy size: four setting methods

The official help centre (checked 27 September 2026) describes four ways to determine your copy trade size.

Axi copy trading — copy size methods (official help centre, checked 27 September 2026)
MethodWhat it does
Fixed sizeAll copied trades are fixed to a single trade size
Mirror master sizeTrades are copied at the same size as the provider (master), regardless of your own account size
Proportional to equityTrade size is set in proportion to your account's equity
Proportional to balanceTrade size is set in proportion to your account balance

If you choose proportional to equity or proportional to balance, any change in your account's equity or balance is reflected directly in your trade size, which can result in a larger position than you expect.

Axi copy trading risk settings: soft-stop and hard-stop max drawdown

The official help centre (checked 27 September 2026) states that copy trading risk is managed through the "Max Drawdown" setting.

  • Soft-stop level: once reached, no new trade instructions are copied
  • Hard-stop level: once reached, all copy trading stops and related open copy trades are closed
  • The setting is applied with "Agree and Confirm"
  • The maximum leverage available in the Axi Copy Trading app depends on your Axi account type

What happens when you stop following a provider on Axi

According to the official help centre (checked 27 September 2026), if you stop following a signal provider you can choose one of three options.

  • Continue mirroring only your currently open positions
  • Close all open positions
  • Manage your positions manually

Unlinking your account disconnects you from every provider you follow. The app also supports a multi-account feature that lets you manage several accounts from within one app.

Requirements to become an Axi copy trading signal provider

To let others copy your trades as a signal provider (often called a "master"), the official help centre (checked 27 September 2026) sets out the following conditions.

  • Your account balance must be at least USD 500 when you start
  • You must have six months of trading history
  • Your performance fee, a percentage of the profit your followers earn, cannot exceed 50%
  • The fee is charged only on profit above the previous high-water mark

The official help centre does not give a detailed process for registering as a provider; check the "Provide Signal" option in the app or contact official support.

Axi copy trading, bonus credit and Axi Select: points to watch

Trading credit granted by a limited-time deposit bonus is reflected in the equity and drawdown calculations used for copy trading. If you use proportional-to-equity or proportional-to-balance copy sizing, that credit is also included in the trade-size calculation, so you may end up taking on more risk than intended.

  • Copy trading is not allowed on an Axi Select allocation account (EAs are allowed, but not for the purpose of duplicating trades)
  • Past performance of the trader you copy does not guarantee future results
  • Minimum investment, exact fee rates and profit-split terms differ by signal provider, so check the profile screen before copying
  • Trading through copy trading and Axi Select carries the risk of loss, and you may lose more than your investment amount
