Exness review and safety: company details and Japan's FSA notice

Is Exness a scam or safe? We check its contracting entity, Seychelles licence, Japan FSA notice, 0% stop out design and account types using official sources.

What you can actually verify about Exness's safety is the contracting entity your account is registered to and the regulation that applies to it, the notice published by Japan's Financial Services Agency (FSA), and the trading conditions set out on the official Help Center (0% stop out, maximum leverage, account types). This article does not treat individual posts on social media or review sites as fact.

The Japan-facing guidance we confirmed on the official Help Center names the contracting entity as Exness (SC) Ltd (Seychelles Financial Services Authority, licence number SD025). Separately, Japan's FSA published Nymstar Limited, operating under the service name Exness, on its list of unregistered operators of financial instruments business in April 2023. Using only this official and public information, this article sets out why Exness is searched alongside terms like scam and suspicious, what can actually be confirmed, and the steps to check before opening an account.

In short: check Exness's safety through the contracting entity, regulation and the FSA notice

  • Check the footer of the Personal Area (the screen after logging in) for the name of the entity your account is registered to
  • Cross-check the regulation and licence number that apply to that entity against the legal documents and the regulator's public register
  • Understand Japan's FSA unregistered-operator notice as the fact that you have no investor protection under Japanese law
  • Decide whether the 0% stop out and up to 1:2000 leverage (unlimited under conditions) design suits your own money management
Unregistered and fraudulent are not the same thing

The FSA's unregistered-operator notice publishes the fact that a firm solicited Japanese residents without the registration Japan requires. It is important risk information meaning you have no protection under Japan's Financial Instruments and Exchange Act, but it does not find any individual deposit, withdrawal or trade to be fraudulent.

Why Exness is searched alongside scam and suspicious, and what can be confirmed

Searches such as Exness scam and Exness suspicious tend to reflect several separate issues: the lack of registration with Japan's FSA, the fact that much of the official site is only viewable after login from Japan, which limits public information, design choices that differ from other brokers such as 0% stop out and unlimited leverage, and the existence of impersonation sites. These are different kinds of concerns, so we look at what can actually be confirmed for each.

Exness company details: contracting entity and regulation

Exness is a multi-asset broker offering CFDs on crypto, forex and commodities, and its official Help Center explains that it operates through multiple entities licensed and regulated in various jurisdictions. Which entity your account is registered to depends on your country of residence and when you registered, and is shown in the footer at the bottom of the Personal Area (the screen after logging in).

Notice published by Japan's Financial Services Agency

Japan's FSA lists Nymstar Limited (service name: Exness) on its list of unregistered operators of financial instruments business, dated April 2023, and records that it solicited over-the-counter derivatives trading over the internet (confirmed 15 September 2026). The FSA warns that even a firm licensed overseas is prohibited from conducting financial instruments business with Japanese residents without registering in Japan, and that pursuing a dispute with an unregistered operator is extremely difficult.

Cross-check by entity name, not brand name

The entity name on the FSA's notice (Nymstar Limited) differs from the Japan-facing contracting entity this site confirmed (Exness (SC) Ltd). Do not judge by the brand name Exness alone; cross-check your own account's contracting entity against both the regulator's public register and the FSA's published notice.

How the 0% stop out and up to 1:2000 leverage work

Exness's official Help Center states that stop out is set to 0% on all trading account types. Orders are automatically closed only once margin level reaches 0% or equity hits zero, a design that stands out against the 10 to 30% most brokers use. The margin call level is 60% for Standard Cent and Standard, and 30% for Pro, Raw Spread and Zero.

Standard Cent60%0%from 0.3 pips, no commission
Standard60%0%from 0.2 pips, no commission

Raw Spread30%0%from 0.0 pips, up to USD 3.50 per side per lot
Zero30%0%from 0.0 pips, from USD 0.05 per side per lot

Registration via the Kenya entity (Exness (KE) Limited) or the Jordan entity carries a 20% stop out. Stop out can be raised to 100% on stocks due to increased market risk. A 0% stop out is not available in some countries.

The official site also describes Stop Out Protection, a feature that can delay or in some cases avoid stop out when, for example, spreads widen, but it states clearly that availability is decided by the company's own mathematical model and is not always offered to every client. Maximum leverage is 1:2000, and unlimited leverage becomes available once conditions are met, but it is not available by default.

0% does not mean losses are smaller

A 0% stop out means positions are not forced closed until an account's equity reaches zero. This lets you hold a floating loss for longer, but leaves almost no funds in the account at stop out. The design assumes you place your own stop-loss orders and set trade size within what your own funds can bear.

Account types, minimum deposit and bonuses to check

There are five account types, Standard Cent, Standard, Pro, Raw Spread and Zero, all supporting MT4 and MT5. The official Help Center states minimum deposit varies by region and payment method, with no single figure on the public pages. We could not confirm any account-opening or deposit bonus being offered as of this site's check, so this is not a broker to choose for a bonus.

  • Treat the figures shown in the Personal Area as the current minimum deposit, funding methods and fees
  • Match the name on your deposit source to your registered name, and confirm the deposit and withdrawal route with a small amount before deciding how much to fund
  • Unlimited leverage is for experienced traders who meet the conditions and is not available by default
  • Features such as swap-free trading and Stop Out Protection are offered depending on trading conditions and trading activity

Telling the official site apart from impersonators

Separately from checking the broker itself, you also need to guard against fake sites and impersonation by third parties. Do not rely on search ads, DMs on social media, transfers to a personal name, or instructions to install a remote-access app; cross-check the official domain and login page yourself.

  • Does the domain you are viewing match Exness's official domains (exness.com, get.exness.help)?
  • Does the Personal Area footer show the contracting entity's name, regulatory information and legal documents?
  • Does the name on the deposit account match what the official screens state, with no request to transfer to a personal name?
  • Have you avoided handing your password, authentication code or remote control of your device to a third party?
  • Have you avoided being told that profits are guaranteed or that a withdrawal is certain?

Steps to check before opening an Exness account and depositing

  1. 01
    Record the contracting entity

Save the entity name and regulatory information shown in the Personal Area footer after registering. Do not record the brand name alone.

  2. 02
    Cross-check the regulator's register

Check the entity name and licence number against the public register of the regulator shown. Also check Japan's FSA unregistered-operator notice.

  3. 03
Read the terms and the withdrawal route

Save the client agreement, risk disclosure and withdrawal policy, and check identity verification, deposit and withdrawal methods, and fees.

  4. 04
Set trade size assuming a 0% stop out

Decide in advance to place stop-loss orders and to trade only with an amount you could lose without affecting your life, before you deposit.

Do not act on instructions that rush your decision

Prioritise checking the contracting entity, terms and withdrawal route over high leverage or unique features. If anything remains unclear, do not deposit, and check with the official support desk or Japan's FSA consultation desk.

Frequently asked questions

Q. Is Exness a scam?

A. As far as this article's sources confirm, Exness is a broker operating through multiple entities licensed and regulated in various jurisdictions, and the Japan-facing contracting entity this site confirmed is Exness (SC) Ltd (Seychelles FSA, SD025). Separately, Japan's FSA published Nymstar Limited, using the service name Exness, as an unregistered operator in April 2023. Unregistered means you have no protection under Japanese law, which is a separate matter from a finding of fraud. Whether individual deposit or withdrawal disputes have occurred cannot be judged from social media posts alone, so check the contracting entity, terms and withdrawal route yourself before deciding to use it.

Q. Is Exness registered with Japan's FSA?

A. No. Japan's FSA published Nymstar Limited (service name: Exness) on its list of unregistered operators of financial instruments business in April 2023. If a Japanese resident uses it, they receive no investor protection under Japan's Financial Instruments and Exchange Act.

Q. Which company operates Exness?

A. The official Help Center states that it operates through multiple entities licensed and regulated in various jurisdictions, and your own account's entity is shown in the Personal Area footer. The Japan-facing contracting entity this site confirmed on the official Help Center on 3 September 2026 is Exness (SC) Ltd (Seychelles Financial Services Authority, licence number SD025).

Q. What does Exness's 0% stop out mean?

A. It is the official design under which orders are not forced closed until margin level reaches 0% (equity of zero). It applies to all account types; the margin call level is 60% for the Standard-family accounts and 30% for Pro, Raw Spread and Zero. It lets you hold a floating loss for longer, but leaves almost no funds in the account at stop out, so the design assumes you place your own stop-loss orders.

Q. How should I judge a concerning point I read about Exness's reputation?

A. Do not judge from social media or reviews alone. Cross-check the contracting entity, regulation and licence, client agreement, and deposit and withdrawal conditions against the official Help Center and the legal documents in the Personal Area. Safety or illegality cannot be concluded from individual posts alone.
